Can't get over dehydration

Recommended Posts

I'm a little over a month into my surgery and I just can't get comfortable enough with drinking Water. Not just water but any liquids at all, I can eat and keep things down easily but liquids are a no go. I've been re-hospitalized for dehydration and I'm so terrified of feeling that sick again that I need to find a way to drink enough water. How do you guys do it? I know there are water enhancers and I plan on trying some but I am very sensitive now to artificially sweetened things and they all just taste like chemicals to me now. Soaking my water in fruit doesn't seem to do much either. I'm just at a loss and so scared. Maybe I'm over thinking it.

What are you eating and how much? For me i needed to focus on liquids and eating came after i had a good routine, but now 10 weeks i will drink alot of my water before allowing my self Breakfast, then allot of my water before allowing my self lunch and then after that i only have one bottle of water left. this works for me.

Tea?

My surgeon recommended trying the Ph balanced waters for those who have trouble with Water taste. Have you tried iced tea? sugar free lemonade? Surely there's one thing that you can tolerate. If not force yourself to drink water like your life depends on it - because it does. It's not optional.

I did and still have mild issues with Water (surgery 8/23). I can drink anything but water. I usually drink crystal light or the "natural version" sweetened with stevia. I can drink that all day long.

I'm only a few days out, but I have a really hard time drinking plain Water. It's easier for me if I drink crystal light that has been waaaay watered down. It's just a hint of flavor, without being excessively sweet.

I hope you find something that works for you soon!

I had trouble getting all my water in, so I drank very warm fruity herbal teas. It helped immensely and went down easy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
