8/25/17 sleeve updates

I wanted to have a thread for the several of us with the same surgery date. How are you all doing? We are about 10 days out. I've lost about 20 lbs, but the vast majority was from the liquid diet Pre-surgery. I have a few more liquid diet days and then have 2 weeks blender food starting Friday. I feel pretty good. Still tired a bit and my stomach still is black and blue and a little swollen. Other than that I'm fine. How are you guys?

Same boat as you - surgery was 8/24 and I stopped losing about a week ago. I'm tired, kinda cranky and not losing weight...can't wait for this stage to end. Good luck!

Yeah it's been rough.
I am thinking "why am I starving myself, have no energy and the scale isn't moving"

Checking in again. It's been 3 weeks since surgery. Worked this past week and eating a high protein soft foods diet. Feeling pretty good. Stamina coming back, but the scale doesn't change. Going a bit crazy. I feel like I'm the one that this won't work for. Everyone says to be patient...

Im with u at 3 weeks getting a little gutsy with some of the foods but losing a little at a time i think thats perfectly healthy i mean its still early as well.

I am still really tired. It's probably because I'm still not getting in all of my water (usually 24-32oz/day) and protein (30-40gr protein/day). I'm also cranky, which isn't helping. And to make matters more fun, the scale hasn't really moved in 8 days or so. Maybe down 1 lb in that time. I'm eating the tiniest portions ever. How is this possible that I'm not losing? I'm so baffled. And tired. And cranky.

Mine was 8/29 and weight loss only a few pounds. Gets very frustrating for me as well, I keep hoping that this will all be worth it in the long run. I hope so

I'm a week out with hernia repair as well. Stomach is only bruised at the main incision. In first or second week did anyone try straining soups to drink? I'm tired of broth already! Shakes are still hard to get in throughout the day. I just bought some Genpro that helps to get in the protein needed. I love popcicles, so have those to help with my fluid intake and made some popcicles out of my shake mixture, so that should help too. Good luck everyone!

I'm right there with you. My doctor recommended one protein shake a day to make sure you get to 50gr of protein a day. So I have that for breakfast everyday and get it out of the way. I have to hope that at some point the weight will start to come off. I literally weigh the same thing for the last 10 days. Hope to check in again next week with better news. Keep the faith.

Do any of you track your calorie intake? Just curious what everyone is eating a day. Im on day 24 and im on 2 meals and one shake now. CAlories are around 500 to 600. What are yours?

I too am on soft foods starting week 4 and I have stalled several times but yes be patient it will start moving I've only lost 15 pounds but if we stay consistent the scale will move!! Hang in there!!!! I felt like I would b the one it didn't work for too but today the scale started to move so just hang n there!!!

I also think starting weight plays a huge part and how well you did before you had surgery. If you lost a good amount prior it may come off slower

I was sleeved 8/29. I did not lose weight before the surgery. I'm down 26lbs since surgery but I think that is because I did not lose pre-op. I'm eating about 500 calories and 60 grams protein a day now. I'm trying to eat more but I can only manage a few bites of cottage cheese, everything else makes me feel like it is stuck. I have a shake, broth and popsicles. I found a broth with 9 grams of protein. I'm exhausted though.

Definitely tiring and i am with u with food feeling stuck i slacked last few days with protein so im gonna make sure I get a 30g shake in there somewhere

I lost 14lbs in my 1 week pre op then lost another 13 in the first week post op but, have stalled the last 5 days. Been just about the same weight for 5 days and it's very frustrating but, I know it will be like this so I am sticking with it and hoping for the best.
