So im going to have an operation in the morning to fix my "candy cane syndrome". i had several attacks of pancreatitis and upon getting a scope done with my bariatric doctore, we found what was potentially the cause. Right where the stomach is attatched to the small intestine, my intestine has what was comparable to a bubble on a tire. A weak spot that has ballooned out. No getting past it , it has to be fixed before something happens. I had several bouts of bowel obstruction, followed by pancreatits. Talk about pain ! nothing can compare to the pain I experienced....Has anyone ever had any experience with this syndrome? what was your outcome? tell me about your experience...and don't you think that is one hell of a name for it?

What a sweet name for an insidious issue. I hope you feel much better after this is fixed. Wishing you all the luck!

This is something I think I might have. I see my surgeon tomorrow for another follow up. I have been in pain for nearly 2 years. I am even considering a reversal or a takedown.

What is done for a bowel obstruction? Just wondering if it's another surgery....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
