I'm 3 days post-op. I'm having problems with drinking and keeping clear Liquid Protein down. Any suggestions?

I was sleeved Wed and I am also having the same problems. I hear it gets better each day.

I sure hope so. I think it will be easier when I can add in Protein Shakes. I like the Premier Protein.< br>

I was sleeved Tuesday I started with Protein Shakes when I got home. Cold liquids are definitely a no no.

I'm supposed to do Clear Liquids the first week then add in the full liquids starting week 2. I too have issues with cold liquids.

I was sleeved on Tuesday and am on the same type of follow up diet as you. Clear Liquids for the first week, full liquids week 2, and then soft/ moist foods for a couple weeks, etc. I have been doing warm broth and handle it well, as well as Protein Water. I seem to do OK with cold liquids, so I've been having sugar free crystal light and ice water. Bone Broth might be a good idea for you. It's "clear" and has protein in it. Hang in there! Before we know it, we'll be passed this stage!

Try different temperatures - sometimes warm was better than cold, sometimes the opposite. Sometimes with flavor (e.g. crystal light), sometimes plain. Sometimes tea, sometimes coffee, sometimes broth. Keep experimenting. If you are clearly not close to your goal for Protein and Water (I was told to use 60 grams and 64 ounces as my marks, with my shakes counting toward my ounces) call your team. Dehydration can be a big problem. Try some sugar free popsicles, too.

I seem to take broth down the easiest. I can't do anything really cold yet. I noticed the clear Proteins I liked pre-op, I no longer tolerate. I'm be fine when I can do full liquids I think.

I can't wait to just be able to drink somewhat normally. I am CRAVING water, but after the tiniest sip, I feel sick. It's driving me crazy!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
