Good Morning,

I am preparing for post-op and am a little lost about how to choose protein powder/drinks. Do you have a favorite? I tend to shop a lot on Amazon. Thanks!!!

I don't like a lot of meat so I'm trying to find a powder I can mix with my mashed cauliflower or other puréed veggies when I hit the purée stage in a couple of days.

I am neither endorsing nor recommending this product other than to say I have used it:

Tumeric flavored bone broth powder. The problem with it is the fact that it is a poor protein, collagen. This is not a protein that has any great efficacy with muscle growth or retention. It can't hurt, but it is not really giving you the same bang for your buck in regards to usable protein. But it is at least better than Genepro.

Pretty much any unflavored whey protein powder would work with a heavily spiced or seasoned mashed vegetable IMO. While I do enjoy a great tasting meal, an OK tasting meal that meets my macros is far more worthwhile IMO.

Check unjury.

As well you should not be convinced. It's snake oil.

I knew the second I saw the thread title someone would bring up genepro. It is impossible to cram 30 grams of anything into a tablespoon. Lol

Isopure is good stuff. I have never tried the unflavored but use the flavored variety daily.

Yes isopure, unjury and quest are all great!

I hate the taste I'm trying to
Find one that's tasteless

I use Bariatric Fusion that I buy online. I use crushed ice, 8oz of 1% milk and put in the Nutri Bullet. I seriously couldn't stand any of the others I tried but I actually like this, have it almost every week day for breakfast. Good Luck!!!!!

I like the protein powders from Unjury -- especially the chocolate, clear, and chicken flavors. I can't seem to stomach the Premier shakes, but I love the clear fruit-flavored drink.

I compared the muscle milk powder that I got at costco and it seems a solid choice but I never see mention if it here. Is it not a good choice?

If you go by the label, it sounds pretty good. But when you look at the ingredients list you will see that they predominately cheap milk proteins instead of the whey. They have some whey in them, but that is usually last on the list in their protein blend. Spending that much on a protein, it should be 100% whey. Especially if they are marketing themselves as a lifters protein source.
