  1. Welcome, best decision of my life. I am also blessed to have a very supportive husband (who has lost 40 lbs eating my low carb post op diet). Would definitely be harder if I didn't have that support!! Good Luck, hope to see some before and after pics real soon!!!!!! Its normal to be scared and I found the 2 week pre op diet difficult but it is so worth it, as Im sure you know. Focus on the excited part that's what I did. Was I size 22 jeans and last week bought my first pair of size 14. Going to the beach, baseball games, concerts, walking,in the park; first summer I've enjoyed in years!!!!!!!! Feel free to message me any time.
  2. I had the same problem with the protein shakes then I tried Bariatric Pal (online), I mix with 1% milk, crushed ice and whip up in the Nutri Bullet. I love it, at 4 mos out I still start my day with them. 27 grams of protein right out of the gate! I mix the vanilla and chocolate 1 scoop of each and I love it!! Good Luck, cant wait to hear your success story!!!!!!!
  3. WOW, you look terrific, congratulations!!!!

  6. My surgery was on April 6 and Ive lost 51 lbs. Nice work, losing 20 in the first 2 weeks!!!! Keep it going
  7. Just wanted to give a shout out to see how everyone is doing at 3 mos out. I am down 50lbs!!! Went to a baby shower yesterday, couldn't decide which outfit I wanted to wear as opposed to what I had to wear. Lots of people who haven't seen me, have to admit it was a lot of fun to mingle and socialize as opposed to sitting at my table and trying to be invisible until it was over. Went to the beach last Sunday with hubby, its been 13 years!!! Attended a concert and danced in the aisles. I haven't enjoyed summer in years, life is fantastic would love to hear from everyone!
  8. I use Bariatric Fusion that I buy online. I use crushed ice, 8oz of 1% milk and put in the Nutri Bullet. I seriously couldn't stand any of the others I tried but I actually like this, have it almost every week day for breakfast. Good Luck!!!!!
  9. I was sleeved 4/6 and am down 30 lbs (14 preop and 16 postop) Out of the plus size dept, (at least in tops) can walk without my knees and back hurting face is thinner, starting to recognize myself again!!! walking 2-3 miles per day and prior to surgery a walk to the corner mailbox was torture between knee pain and being out of breath sleeping so much better, like I turned the clock back 20 years on that one! Congrats to everyone who has made this decision and is transforming.
  10. HI, I had my sleeve on April 6 and I can relate. I also had 2 C sections and a total knee replacement and thought this would be very easy as far as recovery. Everyone spoke about barely any recovery time and I was disappointed in myself when I felt miserable for the first few days, not even gas related but as you're saying incisional pain. I had 2 areas on my right side that were painful, I couldn't find a comfortable position. My back hurt, I had a headache and yes I also took my Percocet. Even though I did my breathing exercises it hurt to breathe and I felt short of breath when I walked. Anyway the good news is I was sleeved on a Thursday and by Tuesday I felt significantly better and by the one week mark completely back at my norm. So as a fellow RN I am writing to encourage you with my story and let you know you are about to turn the corner. Ive lost 26 lbs and am tolerating a pureed/soft diet and feeling great. Just give it another day or two. If you need someone to talk to Im here and I would love to see how you progress in the next week or so. Deb
  11. I had a hiatal hernia repair and sleeve on 4/6. Doing well, hernia didnt effect recovery at all. Good luck this week!
  12. I know exactly how you feel, having doubts now that this was worth it. Thought I'd be feeling better but instead just feel fat and sick with this awful taste in my mouth from all this fake fruit flavored medicine and "food". My husband has been so supportive and I felt so prepared that Im trying not to fall apart. It's not a food thing either, not craving anything, just feel so awful between the headache and the pain. We have to believe that this is going to work, it works for everyone else it will work for us, you will lose that 60 pounds over the next 6 months and so will I. Those are reasonable realistic goals, we just have to turn this corner.
  13. Good Luck today, and yes I agree, feeling pretty miserable at 4 days out but this gives me hope. Have a great day!!!
  14. I was sleeved on 4/6 and am not feeling as well as I thought I would. I also have severe pain between and under my breasts that sometimes radiates to my back when I sip. Moving in bed at night remains an ordeal, and still have incisional pain the upper right abdominal area from where the stomach was removed. Almost constant headache. Have been getting in about 40 ounces of fluid, doing my walks but it is painful to really do anything. Weight is up a little bit, hoped to see something, trying to stay positive, but feeling a bit discouraged.
  15. Its actually freeing to take a photo not trying to stick my neck up to hide the extra chin (like it did anything anyway). Let it all hang out, cuz you wont be seeing it anymore! When is your surgery?
  16. Congratulations!!!!! We'll all be shopping for new summer clothes real soon
  17. I'm so excited for us all!!! Can't wait to see everyone's updates and progress. I had my husband take my "before" pics today. As soon as you're up to it let me know how you're doing!
  18. Tomorrow is the day!!!!!!!!!! Can't believe its really here, it's been such a long road from last August when I went for my first appointment with the surgeon. Been looking at before and after pics, reading comments to keep the nerves in the back of my mind and the joy right up in the front where it belongs!!!!!!!!!! Good Luck to all my April sleeve buddies.
  19. You look terrific!!!! Congratulations keep up the good work
  20. I'm April 6th as well, super excited but the nerves are kicking in. GOOD LUCK!
  21. Yeah!!! I have a partner, are you on the liquid diet? Can't believe its actually happening in 4 days; started this process in August!!!!! Good Luck
