Savedbygrace -- no more gas pains? mine lasted almost three weeks! Glad to hear you are doing so well! The having to make yourself drink after surgery is normal. i remember being so NOT hungry the first few days after surgery! Glad to hear from you.

well i thought the gas was gone lol. I've dealt with it more today. Mostly in my chest. I've went out walking twice and of course walking around the house every hour or so. Laying down is uncomfortable!! The good thing is that the incision pain is better! I took the bandages off today and they are already itching some but thats a good sign!! Looking forward to the future!!!

walking is good for the pain, and good for you too! will help boost your metabolism. in a day or two you will start feeling hungry again. and, soon (before you start getting fills), VERY hungry. be prepared. once you start getting fills, then you can concentrate on weight loss. until then, concentrate on your healing! will get better every day!

Hello, I'm kind of new to this forum. My surgery date is this Wednesday. Wanted to share with you that I've just started a Sunday School class on Beth Moore's "Get Out of That Pit". You should pick up her book. We're discussing how Satan loves to get you down into that pit and off the right track in every aspect of your life. This class came at a good time for me.

I am NOW 6 days post op & I am still a little sore, but I am feeling 100 percent better. My port site is very tender. My other surgical sites are pretty well healed. One of my bandages fell off today. The port takes the longest to heal.

I have been having some hiccups (agonizing!). Hiccups aren't fun with the band. I haven't been experiencing a lot of nausea. Very little. My husband went back to work yesterday. Pretty rough night. I have two special needs kids. I had a very challenging night, needless to say. My mom is coming tomorrow to stay for a week. I am much looking forward to that.

EIGHT MORE DAYS UNTIL solid food. YEAH!!!!!!

all for now

i posted a reply, but the page would not load afterwards. if I posted this twice, please ignore! I get the hiccups quite frequently now, especially when I overeat. There is a gland called the vagus nerve that travels down the back of the throat into the stomach area. Also gives a tickling feeling in the nose or makes you sneeze. look it up online, it is quite interesting.

GLAD ALL IS WELL!

welcome talkinjack, have you gotten any fills yet?

Actually, I go for my first fill on May 15th. I can't wait. I have been very cautious of my calories during this stage because I feel that I am able to eat more than I should and I am hungry more often so I spread out my calorie intake. It is to my understanding that my band came with a small amount of fill and for that I am thankful. I have a question for you, I noticed your fill dates, is that the norm? I'm just trying to figure out what to expect. I never asked my Dr. what size band I have.

Hello Brenda (NeverB4),

All I can say is God is Good!!! This whole experience thus far has been a blessing. The gas pain was probably the most unexpected and I'm so glad I am past that stage. I think the hardest part for me to get through was the food stages because not being able to eat solids for a month has made me appreciate food and making the right choices to eating more healthy. NO REGRETS....I was never to successful in loosing weight and I am so thankful for this procedure, it surely has been a God Send. How have things been going for you, how are you feeling?

Talkinjack,

Glad to hear how well you're doing. I know God will give me peace when it comes to only being able to eat 2oz's at each meal starting 2nd wk post-op.

I get banded next Weds (!!!!!!). I've been on a Protein Shake diet for 4wks now and have been able to remain satisfied with it. I only get hungry if I stay up too late. I'm enjoying being headache free from sweets!!

I'm so excited at what the Lord will enable me to do after Weds is over!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
