  1. Hello--- I'm soon to be 50 and I am hoping to get my band in Oct. sometime. I am currently doing the supervised Dr. visits then I will be ready to go. To those that have their bands, do you like it? Was it difficult to get through the first month? After your first fill was there a significant change? Are there any foods that you can't eat??? What about wine? I know, lots of questions...
  2. I've been reading the Sisterchicks series by Robin Jones Gunn. There are 6 in the series and they are a lot of fun as well as inspirational.

  5. Well, my arms are flapping and I haven't started losing yet. Saturday my husband and I were on a motorcycle ride and I happened to look it the rearview mirror and I saw my arms just a flappin in the breeze. YIKES!!!! I go for the psychology clearance and first nutrition consultation tomorrow. So, things are moving right along. I'M READY NOW!!!!!!!!
  6. I will check into it. I know that my Dr. is aware of how hard I have tried to lose the weight. So, we will see. Thank you all for the information. I'm sure there will be more questions as I continue on.
  7. Hello! Do y'all mind if I join in here? I am just in the process of the banding. For insurance to pay I need to go through a Dr. supervised weightloss program for 4 months. I guess the 7 YEARS of weight watchers doesn't count for anything. :wink2: So, I'm hoping that I will get my band in Oct or Nov. I do have one question....What is PBing? :confused_smile:Please help this embarassed newbie. :tt2: I look forward to getting to know all of you better and learning from all of you. Have a BLESSED day!

4-27-08 Here I am starting this exciting journey. I have so much to learn, but I'm ready and willing. It's the fact that when I get my band I will be healthy again. I thank God that He has given surgeons the widsom of how to do this surgery to help so many people. I pray that I will have the will power to use this new tool to help me in every way. I look forward to the day that the yo yo stops going up and down. WOO HOO!!!!

  13. Thanks for your words of encouragement. I'm really new at this. I have not had the band yet, it is still a few months away but I'm looking forward to the day I have that new tool to help me.
  14. Hello, I'm just starting this journey. My insurance is requiring 4 months Dr. supervised weightloss, so I'm hoping to have my band in October. I'm right on the border of 35 bmi, so I really don't want to lose too much weight before the 4 months are up. I know that sounds weird because I do want to lose weight. I just am really tired of the yo yo weight loss and I know that is what would happen if I lost weight in the next 4 months. Does any of this make sense? My life has been filled with up and down weight and I'm ready for something to help me keep the weight off once and for all. I feel that the LB will be just the right tool for this. Any suggestions? Well, thank you for letting me get that all off my chest. I guess I have said enough for a newbie. I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and not only getting encouragement, but giving encouragement as well.
