It is very sweet. Being two weeks out, how much coffee can you drink at one time?

Do you have any of the reflux I hear comes with the sleeve? I already have that and am medicated. Coffee was always an agitator for that.

I'm 10 days post op and have lost 10 lbs since surgery. Still no pain and gaining strength everyday. Still only getting about 40-50oz liquid in. I'm on full liquids so managed to get creamy Soups and Premier Protein in. I'm a coffee lover and tried coffee for first time today and it wasn't pleasant......looks like I'm saying goodbye to an old friend, lol! Decaf green tea has been a blessing and goes down really well. Best advice I can give is to only try one new thing each day so you'll know what does and doesn't make the cut. Get well wishes to all those post op!

Oh no! I am only on day 5 (had surgery on Tues) and haven't tried coffee yet. Handling Protein Shake, yogurt, and broth well. Trying a popsicle now. Still learning what "full" feels like but was planning to give coffee a try later today. Now I'm worried I should give it some moee time before trying. I switched to decaf months ago but am scared to be sick now that my post surgery nausea is under control. Best of luck to everyone on their experimentation!

I am scheduled for gastric sleeve surgery on Monday, 8/28. I'm nervous - not about the surgery itself, but about what happens after. I'm also having these irrational (?) fears that the surgery work for me - that I'll be ravenously hungry, that my metabolism won't let me lose weight. But, another part of me is optimistic that I'll lose weight and keep it off. Yikes! I'm nervous.

Hang in there! Im sure a lot of us felt the way u do! I know i did! I was sleeved Aug 16th & surprising to me, lost 15lbs already. Im just 3 lbs away from beinging out of the 200s but I feel scared that once im able to eat food again I will gain those 15lbs back. Slowly but surely! So I made an eating plan that I hope will help me plus I will be attending,in person,a support grp + a healthy balance support group! These class are offered thru Kaiser & they're free! The Healthy Balance class has helped me to loose the weight I needed to loose before my surgery so I figured the support group will help also! I also look forward to getting back to my Water Aerobics class!
So hang in there because once you see your success, no matter how large or small, you'll automatically Won't want to go backwards![emoji3]

Well, take comfort in knowing that the hormone that generates the hunger craving is likely to be reduced as a function of the surgery. In fact, I've heard some people say that they've forgotten to eat.

I think Im one of the few that still have my craving hormone! Fortunately Im able to control it. Mainly because I don't want to experience any Dumping!!!!

Yup, that's one of the things I'm worried about. It's great that you're able to control it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
