Recommended Posts

I'm starting to experience hair loss... do any of you champs know when it stops? Is it a whole year of Hair loss? Or just a couple months? I'm just curious... I'm taking my Vitamins religiously I just feel there's no going around it. Hair loss is gonna happen I just wanna know what other have experienced as far as time frame or the hair loss! Thanks loves! I have noticed more hair coming out lately, I was hoping to avoid this phase as well. As long as I don't get patchy, I'll be okay. 😨

I'm 8 months out and it's still coming out in chunks... holding on to hope that it will stop soon. Probably not related, but with winter here, I'm also unbelievably cold all the time.

Oh no I’m sorry. I hope your Hair loss stops too. Not sure if we’re allowed extra B Vitamins? Unlikely ... Well we don’t have a winter in Southern California, but I’m always cold too. That’s definitely from the diet .. I was always burning up before , from high blood sugar.

B Vitamins are Water soluble so you can't really OD on them. You just pee out any excess.

Oh okay. Yeah I figured you pee it out. I just figured if my Vitamin pack says it had 200% daily value, then it’s enough? I’ll have to check that label for the B vitamin, and then ask my doctor what to do... no sense in taking more Vitamins when I’ll pee it out.. the Hair loss has always been an issue , even back in my thin days when I took a million vitamins and ate a very very high Protein diet. Weight lifted and stuff.

My hair started to fall out at 3 months post op. I lost hair for a full 6 months. I'm 9 month post op now and it finally stopped. I tried everything. Got in all my Protein, took Biotin, and tried the nioxin hair treatment but nothing helped. I lost at least half of my volume of hair and it looked terrible. So yesterday I went and got it all cut off. The day of surgery my hair was down to my butt and now it's up to my ears but I love it and it looks healthier. Before surgery you know there is a chance it can happen but when it happens to you it can be alarming and depressing but I just had to remind myself often that it's temporary. So that's my experience with Hair loss.

Fish oil? The docs put me on that but I’m still fairly new and nothing has happened as of yet. But my thyroid makes mine fall out anyway.

Mine didn't start coming out until about 4 months out.It is depressing at first, but you have to remember it's a temporary trade. I'm using some great hair products and boxley Shampoo to help. And it will return eventually. But it pushed me to get a great cut[emoji4] And that helped allot. I may not have long thick hair anymore but I also don't have those 76 pounds

I’ll definitely trade some of my thick hair temporarily for the 51lbs I lost. Good point.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
