Weight Gain After Gastric Sleeve Surgery

Recommended Posts

I am so dissapointed with myself. It has been a rough year for me and I have returned to seek comfort food. As a result, I have gained 10lbs back.

It's not to late to get back on track!! You can do it. I am almost three years post op and I have times I might put back on 5 pounds. My strategy is just nip it in the bud early. What works for me is to do a liquid diet of Protein Shakes for a day or two and then almost zero carbs until my regain is gone. It Usually comes off pretty quickly. You can do it!!

Considering you lost 80 pounds before, you shouldn't have too much trouble dumping the 10 you gained. Just stick to it!

10 pounds might not seem like a lot to most people but my very good friend is your height so I know 10 pounds is a lot to someone your size.

I would suggest doing 4 ounces of dense Protein, grilled chicken, steak, pork chops etc. Grilled, baked, 5 times a day, so you aren't hungry.

Get back on the wagon. Eat small meals of lean, dense Protein, get your calories down around 1200 or so, and get your carbs below 20-25 grams. You'll get the weight back off.

I'm trying. I hadn't eaten carbs for two years and then started again (sliding food). It's amazing how much you can eat and still be hungry. Protein Drinks taste nasty to me after two years of drinking these. I have found myself searching for actual meat in the fridge. A bit or two and it can be quite filling. Looking for what can motivate me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
