Any tips on chewing slowly?

Recommended Posts

My whole family eats so fast then sit and wait for me when we go out to it. It makes me not enjoy it and I end up getting a take out Box. I don't like not making it a social occasion

Move your fork to your opposite hand just as an experiment for a meal. It really slows you down!

It's so difficult but I find these things helpful to do after each bite, step away from your plate for a designated amount of time (2-5 minutes), set a timer for 2-5 minutes, play a game on your phone, eat with others n socialize during the meal (ie ask questions/try general conversation after each bite & don't take another until the person is done talking) , etc

I am 14 mos post-op RNY and I have not been successful at this. I have always been a fast eater but I know I've slowed down a bit but not to the recommended amount. I do wait the 30 mins for drinking but I've never gotten ill from eating too fast (yet).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
