Recommended Posts

so I go for my 9 month post op check up on Friday, and I have not lost ANY weight in the past 2 months. Does this mean I am done losing weight? that being said I did have a lower BMI to start with at 31.... I started at 215 and I am now at 175..... I was really wanting to get to 160 .... anyone else have an experience like this ? Im really hoping that I will continue to lose at least 10 more pounds but scared that I might be done :(

I too had a low BMI and went from 215 to 160. Then. Things a cruise and traveling got me back to 190. I am stuck. No breads, Pasta, lots of Protein, salads and Water. The scale hasn't moved in five months. I have bought a treadmill and struggling to try to get things going.

You've probably hit the end of the surgical weight loss. Any more is up to you!

A potentially helpful thing is to get a metabolism test done, that way you know how many calories your body burns when not exercising.

I want to do this myself, but haven't found a place to get it done yet.

I started at 240#. I lost weight real fast to 180#. I then stalled for 6 mos. During that time I started walking and doing other exercise. I lost inches but no weight. My Dr let me take Phentermine for 6 mos. I lost down to 150#. I am still exercising and walking, trying to get rid of the saggy skin. I'm still losing inches very slowly now.

Nine months is around when my weight-loss slowed down also. Now I only weigh myself every 3 to 4 months. Your body will still lose weight, but at a slower pace. Each time I hop on the scale and I'm down a few more pounds, but I do it very infrequently. This is help me to avoid becoming discouraged Or thinking like a dieter. I weighed myself around the holidays and came in at 190 1/2 pounds. I weighed myself a week ago and was down to 168. That's only 4 to 5 pounds a month. That said, I am already underneath my goal weight which was originally 180 and I wasn't sure I'd ever get that low. Now I'm going for 150. Then I'm going for plastic surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
