I keep reading that you are to walk often after you return home from surgery. Just wondering how much/long and how often you walked after you returned home? Did you walk around your block? Inside your home? On a treadmill? I can't imagine I will even want to get dressed and go outside the first few days, lol!

I had surgery last Wednesday and went home Thursday. Friday and Saturday I would walk a few circles around my house each time I got up to use the restroom. I couldn't do more than that. Sunday I took my first walk outside, probably about a quarter mile. I hope by this upcoming weekend I can do more.

I have leg, feet and hip issues so walking is hard anyway. When I came home from the hospital, I walked about 5-10 minutes at a time, inside the house, several times a day. I didn't want to get very far from the house and not be able to come back. :)

The first few days I just walked up and down my block a few times. By 1 week out, I was walking a mile. I'm a month out and up to 3miles a day.

As long as you are up moving every couple hours, it will be fine. Everyone is different in their ability. Day 3, I was walking a mile. But I'm 4 weeks out now, and don't walk much more.

Thank you for your input! Looks like I'll be dusting off my Walk Away The Pounds DVDs to use for the first few days, until I feel comfortable enough to get outside. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
