My plan didn't allow it until I was eight weeks post surgery.

I waited at least two months to ensure stomach fully healed. Lots of kernels and tiny bits that can get stuck in the incision line.

Oooo. This is the million dollar question. I don't see how we could go see a movie without popcorn! Lol. Seriously though, I plan to wait until aboht 3 months because of those mental things.

I skipped the movie with the family just so I wouldn't be tempted. @mrsdaniel2013 There is no way possible to go to a movie without popcorn.. and some raisinets... and soda... and nachos. See... this is why I need help :0(

My NUT said to wait until at least 8 weeks. I'm now 15 weeks and have had it maybe 3 times, the first time was around 10 weeks. I had no issues but since it's a slider I stay away from it.

I love popcorn. I had it three months out. I air pop it and have it plain. Small portions to give me a treat. As long as I reached my Protein for the day.

I had it like 6 weeks pOP and it's funny how I could eat and eat it and not get full. It's one of my slider foods.

To the weight loss surgery patient slider foods are the bane of good intentions and ignorance often causing dumping syndrome, weight loss plateaus, and eventually weight gain.

This is all true and hilarious. Slider foods are foods that will pass through your new stomach very quickly and easily, so you can and probably will eat a lot of it. popcorn, potato chips, yogurt. These are all considered sliders. Chips turn to mush and go down really easily. It's a slippery slope for sure.

I loved popcorn pre surgery. I've had it once since, several months post but will not buy it. It's too easy to eat a ton of it for me. I haven't bought popcorn at the movies in years. Too expensive. So i usually will eat before the movie and be fine as long as i have Water.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
