Anyone in Los Angeles

Recommended Posts

I had my surgery through Kaiser South Bay. I finished Options the beginning of Feb, met with Dr. Zane (highly recommend!) on March 10, and he scheduled me for surgery March 27. I hear South Bay has a shorter wait, but Dr. Zane is one of Kaiser's best and most experienced WL surgeons in So Cal.
That said, he said pretty much everything will be unique to the patient. (Not helpful for those of us who like to KNOW, right?)
I had 8% wl before surgery, 5% of it during options, and he was completely fine with that.
Talk to the surgeon and ask when the first opening is. You might get lucky, too.

Whaaaaat? Two weeks???? I'. Am. Outraged.

It really seemed to depend on peoples' availability and scheduling. I told him I'd take the first opening he had. He had one opening on that day, so I may also have gotten lucky with a cancelation.

Point is, you never know.

I gotcha, I was just playing around. My surgery date isn't until May 22 and I'm DYING of impatience.

I'm in Santa Monica and would be happy to chat and / or meet if you'd like. Just send me a message. I had the VSG in Mexico, so I won't be able to give any insight on local surgeons, though.

I'll be having my VSG on June 13 at kaiser South Bay with Dr. Mun. I'm so excited and nervous as well!

Exciting! That's great news!

I had my last Options class today. Now just waiting till they call to schedule my appointment with the surgeon.

Go, South Bay sleevies! They'll take great care of you and you'll wake up in a seriously comfortable hospital bed, no joke. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
