I'm 6 weeks post op. I get very dizzy & light headed when I stand up. Just started a week ago. Anyone else experience anything similar ?

I have an appt to see my primary tomorrow but this forum has such a wealth of answers I had to ask.

Probably dehydration or low Iron. I had the same thing, they gave me iron supplements and I make sure to keep up with my Water. Feeling allot better now after taking the supplements.

I have that too. At my two month check-up I was asked if it was happening. They said it was pretty common.

I was told it would probably continue until I stopped losing weight. They kind of alluded to the fact that there wasn't the body weight volume to sustain the blood pressure to your brain like you're used to. They said that until the body weight stabilizes I'd have to put up with the inconvenience.

I have this problem occasionally. It's sometimes fixed by drinking more, sometimes just has to pass on its own :/

Add more Water to your diet. This is almost always caused by dehydration. Also check your Vitamin intake with your NUT and see that you are supplementing adequately. The constant sip sip sip will help you with your dizziness. Good luck! Wishing you dizzy free days ahead!

I had the same problem and was meeting my Water goals. My nut told me to increase Protein and sodium. I am pretty sure it was the sodium for me. I never would have thought too little salt was a bad thing. :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
