Hi everyone!

So I'm 12 days out and I feel completely lost. I'm a vegetarian and I feel like I really don't know what to eat to get a lot of Proteins since I'm in the soft foods stage. I'm leaving full liquids slowly and I really feel like I can eat about anything. Nothing makes me hurt or super uncomfortable. eggs and yogourts are passing less easily but cheese is passing just fine along with paneer cheese, brie, cheese spreads etc. I can eat mashed potatoes and canned vegetables without a fuss from my stomach. Is this normal???

When and should I start eating fake meats or TVP? They are so high in Protein yet low-fat, low-carb... When can I start eating mashed Beans, lentils and so on? :( I need my tofu back LOL! Any good soft foods recipes?

Thank you!!! :D Hope to meet more bariatric vegetarians!

Mashed Beans, lentils and tofu are all soft foods. Basically, if you can cut it easily with a fork, it is considered a soft food. In fact, other than raw veggies, I can't think of anything vegetarian that wouldn't be considered a soft food. I was actually eating tofu, hummus and refried beans in my pureed stage. However, I'd stay away from the mashed potatoes unless you are adding unflavored Protein Powder to them. Otherwise they are just empty carbs.

and feel free to continue drinking Protein Shakes if you need to in order to get your 60-80g of Protein in. I drank them regularly for several years.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
