https://steptohealth.com/say-goodbye-to-loose-skin-arms-legs/

This is the link that I have bookmarked for after my surgery. A friend of mine who is over 2 years post op sent it to me. She also told me that it's important to keep your skin well-hydrated pre-op & always... and better to add it to your daily routine now.

This is one of my biggest concerns so I'm right there with you.

Best of luck - hope this helps :)

FYI & in response to another post... she did this as she was losing weight and wasn't sure if it would be helpful to me because I will lose weight much faster having RNY instead the surgery she had that had her losing steadily at a slower pace.

If the skin is really stretched nothing is going to help it. Especially not push ups .

Those "loose" skin in those pictures aren't even loose skin. I could show you real arm loose skin, it isn't filled to the brim with fat like those picture, it is actually loose empty skin.

Trying to fill the skin with muscle, if you have a large amount of loose skin is impossible/pointeless. My thighs are literally 1/2 the size they used to be, about 40% of my thighs are just loose skin. I can't make enough muscle to fill that skin in, if I did, I would be massive in size.

How much loose skin you have if you have any is going to depend on how large you were, for how long and how much weight you lose. When I just lost around 100-120 pounds I didn't have much loose skin, but when I lost the last 50 or so, it started appearing. I am sure when I lose another 20 it will be worse.

Lol at the pictures of loose skin, and I agree with@OutsideMatchInside loose skin is almost inevitable and you have to come to terms with it (I still worry, but I know I'll have it). Hydration is essential anyways because it's good to stay hydrated and does help skin. As far as lotion and stuff, culturally lotion is VERY important because without it you can see how dry our skin is rather than on lighter complexions not so much, but I will say, exfoliating and lotion adds something to the appearance of your skin to help it look better, it won't snap the loose stuff into place, but can help it look better!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
