Vacation at 8 weeks post op

Recommended Posts

I'm desperately needing advice from people who have been here before.. my surgery is 3/8 so less than a week away and I have a week long vacation planned to NYC the last week of April. This will put me at about 7-8 weeks post op. I know everyone recovers different but do you guys think I'll be able to fully enjoy my vacation? Not food wise but in terms of walking, not feeling nauseous, not feeling sore, etc or do you think I should try and push the vacation out a little longer?

I went to Florida at 6 weeks. I rode bicycles, and swam in the ocean. I also took a couple of naps that no one else needed, but I had enough energy to make it most of the time.

I had my surgery on 11/11/16 and I flew the following week to CT for a week long vacation for Thanksgiving. I was fine! Just had to plan ahead for meals, which was basically soft purée foods that week.

I think it's one of those things that should be fine but bring anti-nausea pills, lots of Protein Powder and take it slow when you need to, ENJOY your trip!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
