1 month post op

I had my sleeve surgery on January 30th. In October I weighed about 450 lbs. I have lost about 65 lbs since then. I was using a cane and a walker before surgery. The Friday before surgery I fell in the tub trying to get out. I had to call the paramedics to pull me out of the tub and take me to the ER. I ended up with a sprained foot and knee. So now I am not only recovering from surgery, I am struggling with mobility when I wasn't very mobile in the first place.

That's awesome progress so far, though! Keep at it and you'll feel a world of difference before you know it. Good luck on your journey!

Sorry to hear about the injury. Glad it wasn't more serious! Sprains usually feel much better within a month or two.

Do you have friends or family that can help with grocery shopping and the like?

There are many exercises that can be accomplished from the bed. It is important to keep moving for blood flow and clot prevention. Get creative!

The good news is with the surgery, you will keep losing weight even without hitting the gym right away. Weight loss will help your mobility, as long as you keep moving as much as possible.

If you don't move, your muscles will atrophy within weeks. Keep using your walker, and try to at least walk around inside the house several times a day.

Make goals. If you can't walk at all, practice getting up and standing, sit down, and repeat. Day 1, do it once or twice an hour. Day 2, do two or three times an hour. Etc.

You are going to do great!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
