I'm still pre-op but I've been on here reading for about a year. It seems to be very common to lose quickly for a couple weeks and then stall for a bit right after surgery - your body is healing and is like "what's going on??" Give it time, keep doing what your surgeon recommends, and don't get discouraged! The weight loss will start up again.

If you search "Week three stall" I bet you'll find a lot of posts with people facing the same thing you are, at the same point. :)

I agree with SarahSleeve. I am 14 weeks post op and have had a few stalls. My first stall was after 2 weeks post op and I didn't lose anything for 2 weeks.

It happens to just about everyone at some point.

That is a LOT of weight to lose the 1st 2 weeks!! Better than average by far! I would not worry about it. Your body is still wondering...WTH??

I was in the same boat. I lost 34 pounds in three weeks, then nothing for four weeks. FOUR WEEKS! This was very frustrating to me in the moment, but then I remind myself that 34 pounds is a lot to lose in the first month, heck, two months, let alone three weeks, and then I'm okay with it, knowing I'm still on track. One thing j had to do was up my liquid intake, which is still a major struggle, as well as upping my carb intake or calorie intake. I did both at the same time, so I'm not sure if it was one or the other or both that has helped.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
