Half way through pre-op checklist

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I guess I'll share a little about me... I'm 29, I'm married for the second time and we have a 14 month old that I'm running after 100% of the time when we're at home. I have PCOS and I'm diabetic. My current weight is 305 from my last doctor visit.

I decided on the RNY procedure and I'm more excited than anything!!

I had my consult on the last day in November, met with the psychiatrist, had my panel of blood tests done and my EDG is Thursday. The reality of all this is settling in and I'm pushing myself to get a grip on eating better pre-op so I have that mindset post op. I have a total of 3 weigh-ins and I'm on #2 today.

It's not a ton left to do so I'm playing the waiting game.

You'll do great. I am so much more fun to my kids now, and they love their new mommy.

I had RNY and love it. I spent one night in the hospital and was back at work in five days.

Congrats!

Set better eating goals for yourself now, but START and start small so you set yourself up for success. If you don't drink Protein Shakes start now so you start dropping some of the weight before you start your liver reduction diet. It will make it easier when you do. Try Premier Protein shakes they are the highest in Protein. I had to play the waiting game to but can't believe I'm on the other side! Soon you will be too!:)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
