Stalling....[emoji20]

Recommended Posts

I know I have read several people have stalls in the beginning so I somewhat expected it but it's not fun! I weigh myself every morning in hopes that the number went down even just a couple ounces. I had my sleeve Jan 31 I lost 10lb pre op and 9.6 lb the first week post op. The 2nd week I lost 2 more lbs the first day and now 5 days at the same exact weight. I'm trying not to get discouraged though! All this excess weight didn't come on overnight so i shouldn't expect it to all come off overnight.

Hang in there, it will happen! I went through several stalls in my 260 pound weight loss journey. Every single one was worth the final result. You have got this!

Thanks SuperDave!! Just curious when you had stalls in the beginning how long do they usually last? I will be 2 weeks post op on Tuesday and I will get to move on to puréed foods. I've been at a stall for 5 days.

I had my first stall at 3 weeks, then probably every 2-3 months after that. They suck, but they pass. My worst was at 240 pounds, and lasted 3 months. I really thought I was done losing, but I didn't give in. I went on to lose another 55 pounds after that. Moving to the next stage may help break the stall as well, it always did for me. Your body gets used to a routine and needs to get shaken up once in a while.

It might be that you are not eating enough.

How many calories a day/protein/carbs a day, do you get?

Well after 5 days the scale finally went down!! Yay!! I just tried focusing on making sure I met my Protein goal and plenty of fluids. I had previously had issues getting 64 oz in per day. Trying really hard to do better at that.

Sounds very similar to me (RNY 1/26). On another thread they reminded folks that a) different people lose differently and B) the lighter you are to begin with the slower it will go. Two pounds a week CONSISTENTLY without backsliding will still be a blessing imho.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
