  4. It is not a strange question, seems totally reasonable. I would say have sex as soon as you feel like it, and find a position that feels comfortable for you. I felt like I had a C section all over again with my surgery, so I would not want to do anything that pulls on the incisions. Also, of course keep in mind that sex does not have to be limited to PIV Get creative!

  17. I have a board on Pinterest called Bariatric. I found a lot of good ideas there. Good luck!
  18. Yep, I think I was dancing around about a week after....
  19. And again, most people don't have the dumping syndrome (according to my doctor). Everyone is different. I'm still finding out what I can or cannot tolerate (honey yes, sugar in very small doses, sorbitol no).
  20. Check this out http://100down.org/the-whoosh-effect/ Any given day your body is responding to stuff that happened days or weeks before!
  21. I was told six months, but I wouldn't bother. It's empty calories and as they said on the office, "bad decision making in a glass!"
  22. My doctor also said carbonation was a myth, as was gum, and pretty much admitted it was to keep people from downing sodas. I asked because I'm a drinker of mineral water and they were like, "oh sure that's fine."! I'm six weeks out and had a little soda water the other night with some watermelon juice and I was fine.
  23. I had my RNY surgery on 1/26. I started at 214. Immediately afterwards I was 222 with fluids. Then it dropped to 204 pretty quickly, where it stalled for two weeks. Then I had a drop to 197, and it stalled for a couple of weeks. I read a ton of posts on here and elsewhere, but nothing I found explained stalls as well as this article http://100down.org/the-whoosh-effect I think I'm starting a whoosh, after two weeks of not budging the last few days I lost .2, .4, 1.4 lbs each day. DH and I were talking and if you read the article, the starvation hypothesis makes sense, so while I can't cheat I will make more of an effort to consistently hit 1000-1200 kcal and convince my body I'm not trying to kill it (I had a couple of days this week more like 650-800). To that end I am adding peanut butter strategically. I also think this plus the weight memory theory go together well: my sticking points are all places where my body 'lived' for awhile. Do people know about this? Why am I not seeing it discussed everywhere?

  27. I wish I had more than sympathy to offer. All I can think of when you mention pizza is how much pain it would cause me! That seems to do the trick -- someone on the boards mentioned popcorn and I winced. Once you get into puréed stage, try this to satisfy your craving. Casserole dish I can tomato sauce I can mushrooms Mozzarella cheese Microwave for about three minutes. I could eat about a ramekin full and it tasted a lot like pizza topping. Also, refried beans with cheese tasted extra good to me for some reason. There are lots of good recipes online, and I have a board on my Pinterest page Anthrodiva. Good luck!
  28. You shouldn't have yogurt or applesauce till your dr clears you for puréed foods. If you have them you will possibly slow down your healing and set yourself back.
  29. I have my vitamins on top of my dresser at eye level in the morning.
  30. Sounds very similar to me (RNY 1/26). On another thread they reminded folks that a) different people lose differently and the lighter you are to begin with the slower it will go. Two pounds a week CONSISTENTLY without backsliding will still be a blessing imho.
  31. I gained eight lbs of fluids in the hospital despite being on nil by mouth some of those days!
