Plastic Surgery?

I can't remember if you have a date already or if you've already had your pre-op appointment. For any surgery, they typically require an EKG within 90 days & the blood work (CBC & CMP) within 30. Maybe you'll get those orders at your pre-op visit??

My surgery is scheduled for September 8th. It doesn't even sound like there is a pre-op appointment. It sounded like I will get some calls from the hospital. One to go over medical history and another to schedule the time of the surgery.

Since your surgery is at a hospital (not a surgical center), they'll likely have you arrive a bit earlier for the pre-op testing. If you're worried, definitely call your surgeon's office to confirm!! I'm sure they won't mind… and better safe than sorry.

They did mention about showing up an hour before surgery but I thought that would be the check in process. I'll wait a week and maybe contact them just to verify.

I received in the mail today an order form from the surgeon for a blood test. That makes me feel better.

So it is coming together! In my paperwork I had to be cleared by my primary - mammogram EKG Blood work No anesthesiologist will touch you without n EKG so it may come that route. Best!

Surgery is tomorrow. I leave with some before photos. Not having the chest done yet. Doing a Tummy Tuck and lower body lift.

Had the surgery. Everything seems to have went well. No pain. Didn't even need to use my pain medicine. One of my drains literally fell out so I only have three. Had some bad itching. Doctor took some plastic strips off that was irritating my skin. That's better now. Don't really have after pics yet.

I feel pretty much normal. It does feel tight. I cannot really bend over. Hoping it gets more flexible as swelling reduces. Stomach is pretty swollen. Looks like I have a little beer belly.

Looking like Monday is the earliest to remove these drains. I think I'm at a disadvantage since one fell out a day after so I only have three.

Drains still don't seem to be close to being removed. During the day there isn't much Fluid but at night I get a lot. I think I'm at a disadvantage since one fell out only a day after surgery so I've been going with only three.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
