I was done on the 24th, today is the first day that the bubbles don't hurt when I drink. Now it's only when I take too many sips. Hold on, youre almost there.

The pain in your chest is esophageal contraction or spasms. I had them VERY bad with every single teeny tiny sip for about the first 2 weeks post-op. They should go away once your internal swelling goes down and you are healed up.

I found that marching in place while sipping helped a little. It's very important for you to get your Water in, so you just kind of have to put up with the pain.

I found taking a deep breath when I took a sip really helped me.

Just over 2 weeks post op. For me drinking improved each day. But I felt like you right after surgery. Tiny sips - hang in there. It may not seem like much but every sip counts!!!

Yes!! Mine still does. I had mine done on the 24th. Try patting your chest (burping yourself) it will help. A few taps and it will let up. Let me know uf that helps.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
