Congratulations Flirtylass, you just can't stop losing. I got weighed today and after the big disappointment of putting on 2lbs last week, I have lost 4lbs this week so I'm happy with that and celebrated by buying some new clothes (size smaller!) Pleased that everyone is doing so well and soon all the pre-bandsters will be posting their success too. Keep it up everyone, bigsister x

Hi Flirty-lass im so happy for you just think of all nice clothes you be able to where, you be able to go into any shop not just the one shop like me that's what i hate you don't have a choice and its so expensive for the larger sizes ,its a great time of year to have lost so much weight you have the whole summer to look forward to happy days:thumbup:

Ps, counting down days now:lol:

Hi shoes, I'm feeling fine, just a little tight around the stitches, my diet is varied there is nothing that I've tried that would'nt go down as long as i ate slowely taking tiny bits at a time, there is no restriction yet, however i dont look for food in between meals, and the total size of meals will fit on a saucer. I will weight tomorrow.

Hi MMM, that good your on the mend, hope all new banders are feelin ok, thats great you dont feel the need to snack thats my problem, good luck with your weight loss keep us posted:thumbup:

I am getting so nervous/excited now, this time next week it should be all over and I should be back home.

I wish I could sleep for the parts in between :tt2:

The most scarey thing for me is that I will come round and the surgeon will say...sorry we couldnt put you a new band in.

But that's nothing new for me because I dreaded that last time too.

For you newbies pondering on whether to go for the band, dont even think twice, it was the most wonderful thing I ever did for myself.

Even though I only lost 2 stone, (with another 3 to lose) I felt wonderful, and always consoled myself with the fact that I would never again be overweight ( huh...little did I know)

So go for it!!!!!

I think its the most fabulous thing that any overweight person can do for themselves.:thumbup: And also worth any amount of discomfort/pain. You soon get over it.

The first time i had my band implanted it was 3 weeks before Christmas and by Christmas I felt great and had lost weight.

I hope this helps.

Hi Feckles, thank you for all your kind words and wisdom your going to be fine this time,is it next Friday your going:thumbup:

Hi to all how are you all doing Bigsister, Gillian ,MMM ,Flirtylass, Sammy, T27, sorry if i left anybody out , i just emailed Frederick to let him know what time my flight is coming in and to ask him what hotel where staying in as i booked the package with him getting very jittery at the mo can anybody run down the list of things i should bring with me i know peep's have posted this info before save me looking back.

Hi Shoes, I'm fine thanks, particularly after finding out I'd lost 4lbs this week, especially after gaining 2lbs the week before. I nearly didn't step on the scales as I didn't want to find out if it was bad news again but so glad I did. Although, the first ticket I took out of the machine (in Boots) said I was 5' 4" (I'm only 5' 1" but didn't mind being taller) and stated my weight at 7 stones 9lbs more than I actually am - the tickets were getting stuck inside but for a horrible moment......I should sue Boots shouldn't I for the few seconds of trauma I felt! Hope your pre op diet goes well, once you start doing that, you know you're well and truly counting down and your date will be here before you know it. Take care, bigsister x

I have tried to NOT come on this laptalk site as I feel I am becoming obsessed with reading all the notices, it's this first thing I do in the morning and the last thing I do at night, I ussually check during the day too! I feel as if I have put my 'life' on hold and all I think about is the pre-op diet, the journey & the op., I don't seem to be able to focus on anything else. I have actually changes my ticker to an op. count down ticker instead of a weight ticker, I have 24 days to go till I get my op., it seems like for ever, I remember when I got my date for the the op. I was so excited, and at the time it seemed so soon, now I feel as if I have been waiting for ever! I've almost got by bag packed and ready to go....it's so sad...I do have a life....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
