Hi Mobo i was banded 6th of March my port site is very sore it was fine up to now but lately is very sore, when i eat it gets worse, did you find out why at this stage it was so sore any information i would be very gratefull lol:smile:

Hi Linlayni me too i don't think i chew enough especial with chicken, im ok with soft food yogurt's soup but when i eat solids and dont chew enough i get that feeling in my throat think its our band letting you know when it doesn't like its, its all a learning curve, i agree with you about the weight its very slow and frustrating im sure we will all get there in the end slowly but surely lolx:smile:

Hi Linlayni,My throat seems to be settling down a bit im starting to find out what causes it starchy foods rice also i think chicken and potatoes its very hard to know what you should be eating, its a horrible feeling in your throat i did mention it to my surgeon he doesn't seem to be concerned about it i think its all down to what you eat how you chew it,i have had my first fill i don't feel i have much restriction ,i have heard that your band can get tighter when you fly maybe you would be better to wait till you come home just to be on the safe side :smile:

Hi Conetha,have you mentioned it to your surgeon,i did he said it was swollen tissue i had my op just over 4 weeks now and it doesn't seem to be going its like a dry throat when you eat it feels like something stuck and it lasts for hours its even putting me of eating,not many people seem to have this problem i read somewhere that the band can move up to your oesophagus sorry don't mean to frighten anybody has any one heard of this, when i was on liquids it seemed to settle when i started getting even mushes got it back again im not eating very much had first fill last week he put in 3mils i dont have any restriction yet said it could take two more fills,sorry guys dont want to put any one off if you now anything about this can please let me know:scared2:

Hi Guy's, i had my surgery on the 6th March all went very well, 17 day's post op at the mushy stage but feeling very nassua, also have this strange feeling in my throat like its going to close over very dry have to keep swallowing to keep it moist has anyone experience this feeling in there throat:confused:

Hi Miss Cheryl, just read your post, i am feeling exactly the same i am getting band fitted 6/3 starting to feel really sorry for myself i miss having goodies so much i think i am addicted to choc, like you feel even embarrassed about having surgery, keep thinking something going to go wrong for me,deep down i know it is the right decision for me its an emotional roll a coaster at the mo i suppose its only natural, but this time next week it will be all over for both of us we be wondering why we got so worried and have a new life to look forward to god bless for your op, look forward to hearing how you got on lol x:smile:

Anyone on the Liver Shrinking Diet right now?
Hi New Women, I am having surgery 6th March in Belgium, just wondering are you from Ireland, I'm from Ireland Co Kildare, i have started pr op diet it just has to be low fat,so I'm lucky compared to guy's on liquids, I'm bit worried about the protein drinks not sure what one to get and where to get it for after op, anyone any idea's i would be very grateful:smile:

Hi Nolongermisspiggy,the €4070 does not cover insurance, its very expensive to get insurance for this surgery you still have to pay extra for fills €120, i have private insurance they will not help because its classed as cosmetic its so not fair people who have this surgery do it for health reasons:smile:

Hi nolongermisspiggy thats amazing your on the other side of the world im in this little island called Ireland,$3500 is very good compared to what it cost's in Ireland its €10.000 here that's why I'm traveling to Belgium to have it €4.070,i am starting pre op diet tomorrow cant wait to get started happy days:wink:

Hi Jewy i think im staying in Campanile Vilivorde not sure i spelled that right Frederick Dr Chris assistant has arrange someone to pick us up from airport to hotel, I emailed Bridget and told her i booked direct with Dr Chris because it was cheaper she was very nice about it,his email address chris.debruyne@advalvas.be hope this is of some help to you:smile:

Hi nolongermisspiggy, I'm also getting band 6th of march so excited a little nervous to,I'm having my surgery in Belgium because the price of surgery here in Ireland is to high that's the only thing i am worried about having to go abroad but from reading about hosp and surgeon in Belgium they have an excellent reputation,where are you having surgery:smile:

Hi Jewy,I originally booked with Bridget, i then found forum about Dr Chris people had booked direct with him he offer's a package for €4.070 that includes surgery,hotel for you and your partner for three nights plus all taxi its works out a bit cheaper,i emailed him he replied very quickly one of his team then ring me to make arrangements, its just a waiting game now, so jealous just read you and fatpants are having surgery on the same day that's great for you both:smile:

Hi Fatpants,welcome all march melter's i also found the thread called anyone know anything about Dr Chris de Bruyne is fab the guy's on this thread have been a great support to me sharing there journey's pre op and post op,don't worry no bad story' lots of information and support am getting banded in Belgium on 6th march,i have to follow a low fat diet starting this fri,like fat pants im eating for Ireland at the mo:tt2: look forward to every one's post
