Hi, I really need help!!!! I have really bad trapped wind it is really painful. It is not gas from the op but in my tummy. I feel it coming right up into my chest then feel it going back down again!!!!

I have tried Wind - eze, imogas, gavison but nothing is working any suggestions???

OMG its awful isnt it..you can feel it travelling up and getting stuck..its like you want an enormous burp but cant..i tried everything but nothing works totally..it gets a bit better every day, but is miserable..i suffered bad with it too..and it lasts til about day 10-11 really.. remegel helped a bit, also get yourself straight as poss, walk around and put your arms above your head..i just didnt know what to do with myself.ans stayed in for the first week...but it will get better..anything spicy doesnt help, stick to milky based things like actimel, petit filous..it gets worse at night too when you sit down..sorry cant tell you a miraculous cure, but it will go bit by bit every day..sometimes i still get a bit of it if i eat something too quick or dont chew enough or eat too much..it seems to hurt around my left collar bone, but like you say travels around the chest, like your gonna have heart attack,it had me close to tears sometimes. hope your feeling better soon..Gillian x

Thanx so much Mmm, I did start out as one of the gang didnt I lol.

Well, my op is a week tomorrow, so now I'm starting to feel nervous and excited that I am going to be back as a loser.

I have tried to keep on this diet, and hope everything will go ok.

Glad all you girlies are doing so well.

lewisabbey you have got that same wind thing that Gillian had, if you read back a bit I think you may find some help on how she eventually got rid of it.

I really feel for you.

You know when babies have unshiftable wind we always used to give then boiled Water, have you tried that?

EDIT: Gillian posted ahead of me, sorry didnt see it.

Hi lewisabbeyalyssa i also tried everything for the wind and i found that normal rennie worked better than anything and walking around helped, if its so bad it might be worth having a word with your dr just to see if they can prescribe something different, i still get it in my left collarbone (same as gillian), i thought it was because of the cold as i broke it years ago but no it is the wind travelling up, i probably only get it a couple of times a week and its not to bad, hope you get it sorted x

Welcome bubble, you've found a great gang here always someone to talk to and always someone to listen, so join in a dont be shy.

Lewisabbey, sorry to hear about your wind pain, I dont have any, but I did use lactolose a liquid laxative the night I got home. I could see how well Garry was healing and feeling, and I know he had an encounter with the loo on several occations in brussels due to him drinking a lot of the barium, so I thought it might help if I had a bit of a clear out (sorry to be so graffic). and a lot of the wind came that way and did'nt get trapped, also I walked each day I'm now up to about a mile a day but slower than normal.

Are the painkillers helping with the wind, dont struggle with pain, see your doctor or talk to a pharmacist soon

When did anyone first change their dressings, I shower each day but the original ones are still stuck fast, there is no itching or heat under the dressings.

I have a slight concern today is tht mt left side around wounds lower and too the left has swollen right out and feels hard as if there is Fluid gathering, anyone had this or any ideas.

Hi mmm, I changed my dressings on the Thursday after having had surgery the Friday before, think others have changed theirs after a few days though. Just clean each incision with boiled Water on cotton wool and dry with a separate piece. Then use new dressings - mine were 'Opsite' from Lloyds chemist and cost about £2.60 (for 5), they are very good and better than the ones which cost me a lot more from Boots.

Freckles - glad to hear you got your Mum into her choice of home while you have your surgery and recover, that will mean you can relax knowing she is happy where she is. And don't consider yourself not one of the 'gang', main thing is we are all going through various stages of the banding process, choose who is doing your surgery. Doesn't matter one bit and if you can pass on some different advice, it's to the benefit of us all. Bigsister x

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
