I had my surgery 2 days ago. I felt like I did everything ok, leading up to and after the surgery. I walked, I sipped on Water and did breathing exercises. I was released this evening to go home, and the only pain I am having was smack dab in the middle of my chest. Pain melds don't seem to do much and I feel like my esophagus is cramping or something. I told my surgeon about it and he didn't seem to worried. I've only had Clear liquids so I can't imagine it's a stricture.

Anyone else have this? Am I being impatient?

Sounds like you are doing great. I had mine done on 1/4/17. I had mine in Gainesville with Dr. Friedman. I had a few complications but I'm doing much better now. Be very careful not to let your self get constipated.

Yeah the worst thing I am dealing with are these half hiccup half burps that cause that pain in the center of my chest. I'm assuming the flexing of muscles in my esophagus is putting a little stress on my new pouch

I am 4 days post op and I also get these chest pains. It's worse when lying down. My surgeons seem to think it's gas or reflux and have give me anti refux meds. It scares me though because you immediately think something is squeezing your heart.

I understand because I had the same stress thinking my heart was going whacky. But today was yet agin better and I only had a few of these pains. I think it's reflux and CO2

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
