Hi

Today marks 1 month since I done the operation and have only lost 7 kilograms (15pounds)

I kind of feel upset that i haven't lost more considering I have also been training (1 hour cardio session everyday)

What did everyone else loose 1 month post op?

Thanks!

I'm one month out and also down just 15 lbs although my doctor said that is good as many patients retain fluids after however I read all the posts of people losing like 30+ lbs in first month. Also of course the heavier individuals are the more they'll likely lose in beginning. Perhaps 15 lbs is good for our starting weight?

Sleeved 12/19/16

Start weight 208

Current 190

I feel the same. I thought I would lose more and I barely lost 18lbs I'm not happy at all. But I do agree that if the starting weight was on the smaller side then it will take longer but it's frustrating when you have gone through so much.

Yes I agree! We are very similar in weight.

I saw my dietitian today and she said I was doing fine and that is the normal weight lost.

It's not going to happen overnight but was hoping to see more off the scale.

Next follow up is in 4 weeks so not going to look at the scales until then. :)

Yes!! That's why I was stressed because I saw so many people post that they lost 30+

Saw my dietitian today and she said I was doing great for my weight and too not stress about the number on the scale so I'm just going to avoid looking at it

I think definitely the bigger you are the more you will loose first and each body is different I guess.

I am 5 weeks post op. 209 day of operation and now 181. First 2 weeks had a good weight loss then week 3 and 4 I lost very little. Going into week 5 there was quite a good bump and big weight loss. I had post op complications too (ruptured spleen) so no exercise either. It will come don't worry :)

I'm 4 1/2 weeks out and down 18 pounds from surgery. I had a stall for a week, lost 2 pounds in 1 day and have been stalled again.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
