VSG pain vs. c-section pain?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone speak to the comparisons between the 2?? Trying to gauge how painful this will be. I've experienced 2 c-sections, one being emergency (awful recovery!!!!) any input welcome!!

I had a crash c-section and just had a VSG...you can't even compare the two. My c-section recovery was horrific, recovering from the VSG was cake.

No comparison at all the only similarly for me was that I sleep upright the first week it was uncomfortable for me to lay down

Assuming your procedure is laparoscopic, you have nothing to worry about. My incisions were barely even bothersome other than some itching. I know some people have more issues than I did and I've never had a C section but these incisions were much easier than any surgery I've ever had. I slept on my side that night and needed only a little help standing up for the first couple days.

I'm scheduled for Jan 12 and have wondered the same thing. My c-section was awful! I'm hoping this is much easier! I will let you know!

I had a pretty easy recovery from a c-section, but even with that, the vsg was a cake walk. I have had no pain whatsoever, though I am constantly battling nausea and can't keep up with my liquids and Proteins at four days post op. I also can sleep on my side, have no issues with walking, and have not had any gas pains. I'm already fully caring for my 1 year old easily, she even sleeps on me and there is no discomfort. Really the two cannot compare.

Yay! This is encouraging! I also had my boobs done a few years ago. That was super easy! I'm just worried I'm too confident about recovery and it's going to kick my butt! Lol

For me I think this was a little more painful only because you need to use your stomach muscles Way more than you use the muscles down at your bikini area. I have a lot more scar tissue than I did down there too. I think because you never really get to rest that area. But the pain itself is not bad both areas have numbness after the surgery. Be like nike "just do it"[emoji12]

I think after being through a traumatic emergency C-section and a lot of pain to recovery my Sleeve will be much easier! Not even scared of the pain at all. Pregnancy and Emergency C section trained me very well!!!

I found my c-section recovery was was so easy though one of my twin boys was put in nicu and seeing him there had me instantly vomiting... could've just been the anesthesia wearing off but..

I had my surgery 4 days ago and what is comparable... whatever pain you have seems to be short lived. Sure I had awful gas pains and felt I couldn't move the upper half of my body but 2 days after... meh! Just excited for 2017!

Congrats on your upcoming surgery :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
