What's for dinner?

Recommended Posts

I'm just more than three months post op and finding it difficult to come up with meal ideas. Post some pictures of your sleeve friendly meals, could give each other some ideas to keep the variety.

Tonight is bacon wrapped asparagus for me...

Eat some FF cottage cheese or yogurt and THEN explore Pinterest. It makes it easier for me to explore and plan recipes if I'm not starving. Lots of WLS recipe posts.

No pictures but tonight was smoked pulled pork, grilled onions and just a small amount of BBQ Sauce.< /p>

I've got a pork butt in the crock pot right now. Never made pulled pork before but I'm giving it a shot!

Been all over Pinterest, not much that I'd like or realistically want to make. Just wanting to see what things others are having. Gives me ideas that I can put together in my own way.

I keep chicken breast tenders in marinade constantly for hubby to grill. Pork tenderloin is easy to toss in the oven. Crock pot soup/stew once a week leaves plenty of leftovers. Frozen turkey meatballs for when I'm really not feeling like cooking, I toss them in marinara and bake.

I'm also doing chili right now. Perfect for cold weather and easy to eat. It also gives Fiber to keep me a "good ol regular" guy. We do pork butt quite a bit but we do it in the smoker. Good stuff!

Tonight was crab with lemon mayo, asparagus and coleslaw. Last night was Italian sausage with peppers, onions and spicy Tomato sauce and Tuscan-style white Beans. Night before was stuffed peppers (loving my new Instant Pot). New Year's Eve we're having people over and doing tacos and margaritas, no margarita for me. Chili sounds like a great idea for New Year's Day...

I had RNY gastric bypass surgery over 3 years ago. I found that softer foods such as chili and Soups went down much easier than harder foods such as steaks. As a result I relied on softer foods and to a large extent still do. The recipes for a few high Protein homemade meals that I used are attached at the end of the following article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
