The answer is a resounding yes. You are expelling matter from your body and matter has weight. I have weighed myself before and after many times and there is a different, but usually it's ounces I've never had a scenario where it has shown more than a half lb. difference.

If you just pass gas will you get heavier?

Since gas is used to make balloons float?

If you are regular then you won't see much of a difference. If you are bound up like you just ate an entire 20 pound cheese wheel then you will lose weight when you poop.

I used to be a very regular pooper. :D I had dumping syndrome prior to surgery due to intestinal neuropathy caused by chemo. So not a fun long-term side effect. However, it seems to be the only thing helping me since I was sleeved! Since I was sleeved on 12/7 I have a tough time with this, but when I do finally go its liquid. Very weird. But I DO loose weight! LOL

Any time you expel matter from your body, you lose weight. The amount of weight will vary. Some people are so full of you know what that they could practically disappear with a healthy bowel movement. The truth of the matter though, is that you will lose more weight from taking a healthy leak than pooping. But in either case, you will lose weight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
