February Sleevers -- Let's Do This Together

  • Popular Post

I of course have many questions and would like for February Sleevers to join together for this adventure and life changing decisions we have made to better our health and lives. I think it would be awesome to find other February Sleevers to share our experiences good and bad.

Good luck mike see you on the over side

Doing fine not much pain now plus I'm out and about never had any draine in all holes glued up before I left the hospital x

Thank you it went so much better than I ever thought possible. To be honest I asked a group of friends to really pray for me and let me tell you they did.
Day one/two - pain/some nausea
Day three and beyond- no need for any kind of pain or nausea meds. I'm able to drink and eat prescribed full liquid diet. No constipation. Can sleep on any side or back. Absolutely no complaints!

That's awesome!
Glad your doing well exit45! I just checked into the hospital, should be heading into surgery in an hour or so. Wish me luck!

Go LeftyMike! I'm sure you're just getting out of surgery. Hope everything went well. If looks like they may discharge me in the next half-hour so that's really good!

My surgery was last Wednesday. I have dropped 22 pounds since pre op diet! (3 weeks total) I'm so happy! I'm sleeping better than I ever have, thinking more clearly, having more energy. This has been the best decision of my life. Only complication in hospital was drainage tube causing major pain, and then some soreness out of surgery but I called the doc up and got that fixed. And now I just feel fantastic! How's everyone else doing?

That's great news! Can't wait to be discharged and home!

@JBlue, please stay encouraged... it does absolutely get better. I wanted to share because I haven't come across many experiences in which people shared the not so nice side of things. Again, not to discourage anyone but I like to be prepared knowing all the possibilities. One thing I would encourage you to do is ask your practice if you can have phenergan for the nausea. It's the only thing that helped me. It will make you sleepy but if you're like me... you can use the rest right about now. I'm now able to get my fluids in along with 60 grams of Protein (using the Premier Protein shakes). Once you start to get a little bit of you back... you realize you've got this!!! On another positive note... I weighed in for the first time today and I'm down 15lbs from my starting weight. Just a little something to make me smile! Hang in there... you're doing an awesome job!

Congratulations, Renee2017, on your weight loss, and thanks for the encouragement! It really helps. Thanks to everyone else, too, for the positivity and good wishes. Every day is easier, and I'm super excited about moving forward and making changes. Good luck to everyone who's about to have surgery, and all those who've recently had it! :)

Today is the day!!! I just walked in the hospital. Surgery is at noon. I'm very excited. Not so nervous this morning. I'm ready for thisemoji106.png?emoji5.pngemoji1317.png

Good luck, Cindy! :)

Hello all day 3 post op...YEAAHHH!!!. And this drainage tube is still OF THE DEVIL, can't wait until it comes out!!! Still no regrets, food has gone down well, water is well. Thanks God, thank you JESUS!!! no horror stories here, but that drainage spot hurts like heck. Noooooooooooooo joke. Have a great morning you guys...MUAHHHH

1 day in the books guys! Just got up, waiting to get the swallow test so I can start drinking. All in all not too bad. Pain has been very manageable, no gas pains yet (fingers crossed)!

Well done mike ? Up on ur feet in no time best to move around when u feel safe to do so helps with gas and gets the blood flowing around but no rush .

2nd day here. Was discharged yesterday before noon and spent the day drinking those 1oz cups every 15min. I did start getting the gas movement which is painful but subsides after a few seconds. Fortunately I haven't felt the nausea since leaving from the hospitol so that's good.
