  1. Well, this is my first post on this forum. My Gastric Sleeve surgery is Monday morning at 9:45 and i'm very excited and slightly nervous. I am definitely ready for this! I've been on quite a journey- overweight or obese most of my life but things are looking up. In two months I'm getting married to the most wonderful, beautiful, supportive woman. I've been seeing a therapist to deal with my emotional eating for almost 8 months now and her support has been invaluable and will continue to be post-surgery. Would be great to have even more support from the from the guys on this site as well. Any wisdom you could offer, it would be much appreciated.
  2. Thank you, strengthin#ers. I feel pretty good except for a really sore throat and headache today. I'm getting all my liquids in but bedtime is rough- I'm a side-sleeper, so having to sleep on my back has been really hard. How are you doing? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Gastric Sleeve Surgery Set for Monday 2/20/17!

Day 4 post-op here. Anybody wake up with headache and sore throat? I know that when I go to bed I'm very hydrated but when I wake up in the morning I noticed that my urine is much darker... is this normal? I mean, I can't drink water while I'm sleeping, right? 4. I was thinking to create this thread for those having surgery on Monday. Perhaps we could share our Gastric Sleeve Journey together as our own 'group' by posting to this thread. My surgery time is 9:45a EST in NJ and I'm ready! My surgeon only requires one day Clear liquids prior to surgery and I just ate my last 'normal' meal so here I go... 5. Well I'm home now after leaving the hospital yesterday morning around 11:30. Who here has started using protein powder? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. 2nd day here. Was discharged yesterday before noon and spent the day drinking those 1oz cups every 15min. I did start getting the gas movement which is painful but subsides after a few seconds. Fortunately I haven't felt the nausea since leaving from the hospitol so that's good. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. That's great news! Can't wait to be discharged and home! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Go LeftyMike! I'm sure you're just getting out of surgery. Hope everything went well. If looks like they may discharge me in the next half-hour so that's really good! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Well it's the morning after surgery for me I'm blessed to have no complications. Walked twice yesterday and luckily haven't experienced blowing or gas yet. Mostly just layed around and slept. How is everyone else doing? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. Quick Question- My surgeon requires a clear liquid diet the day before....unflavored Protein powder mixed in broth is okay, right? My paperwork says it counts in my clear liquid diet post-surgery but is unclear in the pre-surgery instructions (I, unfortunately just realized this). Anyone else use(d) Protein Powder pre-surgery?
  12. My first call from the hospital was for a 12 noon surgery and I was excited to sleep it a little. Then an hour later at became a 9:45am with a 7:15am report time. Oh well! Good luck on your surgery Debraqueen!
