I am nearly two years post op. I was very recently diagnosed with some serious ulcers, which according to the doctors, was caused by taking daily aspirin. Now I'm taking carafate 4 times per day, as well as twice daily proton pump inhibitors. Given the amount of time between taking the carafate and the need to take all of my supplements, and eat, how do I ensure I'm getting the full benefit of my Vitamins and supplementation? Has anybody else had to do this? What is the minimum time between taking the carafate and taking the supplements and vitamins and still get full benefit of all of it? Thanks for your help.

Steve

When do you take your carafate? Take the time between carafate times, half it and thats your answer.

My mother was addicted to Excedrin (which contains aspirin) for pain relief. After several years of overmedicating, she developed severe internal bleeding. So severe that she required a blood transfusion. We took her off all aspirin products and the problem resolved itself after several months.

I was on Carafate for a very long time for an ulcer that I got after my PCP thought my problems might be my heart. But it didn't help me hardly at all. If you notice an improvement ask your Dr for a medication called DEXALENT. I got amazing results from it. Just keep it in mind.

Buy your usual Vitamins and crush them all together to a fine powder... dissolve in a cup/half a cup of juice/water... taste like ass but you are actually getting a more potent dose

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
