For those of you who have had gastric bypass surgery, how do you deal with the horrible foul smelling gas? what do you take other than Probiotics to curb the smell?

Sometimes I just disgust myself.

I had a duodenal switch, which is supposed to create gas so foul it'll make wallpaper peel. Except I only have fit bad the first week or two. I'm 7 weeks post op, and my poop smells pretty normal. But I also am very strict about carb intake. I read before surgery that carbs can make poop super stinky.

I don't think that the smell is that different from the duodenal switch as both the gastric bypass and duodenal have altered intestines. but yes the stench is very horrid it's like decomposed food rotting in a corner somewhere. And my poor husband, the poor bastard puts up with it. before him it was my mother and brother and they had to put up with it for several years. i don't believe that it's fair on them. What about at work? also why is it such a taboo subject? i've looked in here and did many searches and couldn't come up with anything. So now the question is how do we minimise the stench or eliminate it completely? I stay away from milk and am taking probiotics but zilch. Anyone else with ideas?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
