Multivitamins post-op?

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 months post-op and recently switched over from my chewable Multivitamins to some prenatal multivitamins to get the added Iron and folic acid which is supposed to be really important for bariatric patients, but they have been making me incredibly nauseaus and every time I take one I feel like I'm about to throw up. I haven't had any problems taking pill form Vitamins before, and I'm taking my Vitamin B12 and Calcium regularly. Has anyone else experienced this? What Multivitamin do you take daily that fits the bariatric requirements? Any recommendations for good ones? I prefer pill or capsule form rather than chewable and would like something completely tasteless and odourless (the prenatal ones had a really strong smell and taste even though they were in pill form, it wasn't very pleasant :/ ). Thanks!

I take the baratric Multivitamin ONE a day n it has everything n then i space out my calcium chews (Carmel) as my Snacks..multivitamin at 6am..while getting ready for work...calcium chew at 9 (doctor said 2hrs after so the Calcium n Iron don't bind!!??) Then at 2pm calcium chew and at 8pm calcium chew (my total 1500 daily) ...when I space it out with my meals..no nausea, throw up or any side effects from eating or taking meds.. Sleeved Nov 9th. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
