Hi, everyone! I was sleeved on August 17th of this year. I'm down 82 pounds as of today. I just started in this really tough phase of Hair loss. My doctor said it's normal and will eventually go away. I'm just trying to figure out how to deal with it until it does. I have long wavy hair, but since it has started falling out, it has become ridiculously tangled and hard to manage. I considered getting a few inches cut off to see if that would lighten the load, but I'm not sure. Any veterans out there with some advice? Thanks in advance!

I'm not a vet, but I had my surgery in June of this year, and I've gotten through my 'shed'! I lost at least 1/3 of my hair, and it was fast and furious! I'm lucky enough to have crazy thick hair so it was only noticeable to me, really, but if my hair was longer than shoulder-length I would probably have had some length taken off. Longer hair almost always looks thinner to me. My stylist told me to Shampoo as seldom as possible, same for brushing or anything that put stress on my hair. I'm not sure it made any difference, and it was shocking to shampoo and come away with double handfuls of hair :o

I lost hair for about 2 months, it's just about stopped but now I get to deal with all those darned short hairs sticking up all over the place as it grows back in.

I don't have advice but my hair is falling out to the pinot that I can see my shinny scalp. Was already taking the Vitamins and using Rogaine. Ordered some of those Fiber sprinkles on Amazon today. Sigh.

Elisa5150, thanks for the reminder. The Aveda products have clay in them and are very good, I used them last time my hair fell out by handful...

Mine is falling out by the handful. I'm convinced I'm going to be bald. I've heard that no matter what u do or what u take, it won't stop or lessen the loss. I had my surgery one week after you. What was your starting weight? Great job on the huge loss!!!! I'm jealous. Lol. I am about 25lbs behind you as far as loss.

I'm only three days post op but I'm planning for my hair to fall out. About eight years ago my thyroid disease reared its ugly head and my hair fell out to the point that I felt the need to wear a wig. I'm not doing the wig this time. I'll get a crew cut and start over. Worrying about my hair is the last thing I want to mess with.

I had surgery April 19, a lot of hair has fallen out. I take Biotin and use Nioxin Shampoo, conditioner and leave in. It seemed to have slowed but you can see my scalp and my once long hair just looks stringy:( I'm afraid to cut but when I go on 23rd I will. Anyone have any pics to share of their new do's? My Dr said I'm doing everything right but Hair loss inevitable

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
