I have lost 2.2 pounds in 2 whole weeks... I am almost 6 weeks post op! What is going on. I get at least 60 G Protein daily and 64 oz fluids in daily. I eat between 400-500 calories daily and eat under 20 grams of carbs a day (usually more like 10-15 net carbs).... ugh! I feel like there is something wrong with my body. It has never been this difficult to lose weight!! I just don't understand :(

I know it can be frustrating but your body is doing what it needs to do for healing right now. My first stall was 0 lbs in 2 weeks. I got past it and began losing again and then stalled, then lost, then stall, wash rinse repeat. During times when the scale didn't change, my size did. Most will lose inches and go down in sizes.

Hang in there. Don't let your frustration stress your body out even more.

You are never going to lose weight if you don't up your calories. I lost the most weight in the 900 to 1000 calorie a day range.

How much have you lost total? Stalls are normal. Definitely take your measurments. You're most likely losing inches even if the scale isn't moving . When I hit stalls I would try to increase my Protein and Water, usually every 4-6weeks. By increasing protein youre increasing calories. That worked for me. However, everyone is different.

I just think you're at the normal stall/slow down that happens at that time after the initial large losses. Try not to worry too much. Try to up your Protein and calories a bit and just let it ride. You'll start losing again. Every single one of is who went through it did.

Also, take your measurements. I'd be willing to bet you're still losing inches.

My stall happened when I transitioned to real food and more calories. I'm OK with it, I was dropping almost a lb a day. I am happy to be trying foods and losing a little more slowly now. I actually gained 1.25 lbs my first week on real food and I never get more than 800 calories a day. But for like 2 months I was only getting 300-400 calories a day so it makes sense. Plus I am taking in more salt. Don't worry, unless you are eating the wrong foods you will break through and lose again.

I have lost a total of 22 pounds since surgery. (Almost 6 weeks ago).

I will try upping my Protein and liquid intake. And I'll measure tonight :)

Thank you guys so much

t's easy to compare yourself to the ones the lose the fastest but there are so many factors. Would you have lost 22 lbs without the sleeve in less than 6 weeks? No...So be happy and let the stalls happen knowing it's temporary and that you're trending down. I'm in a 2 week stall right now and I'm not letting it get to me. It's not a race. It's a lifelong change :)

I stall once monthly. For the last 3 months it's been right on schedule. Starts the first of the month and lasts till mid month. It's frustrating as hell but every month it picks right up and I loose 15 or so lbs the last 2 weeks of the month. Don't worry, you will start losing again too.

I can't even tell you how many stalls I've had along the way. Your body is in shock. It will come off. I'm 14 months out and down 140 lbs. I've had probably 5 or 6 major stalls, its frustrating but it will come off. Don't weigh yourself daily. That just makes it worse lol

I don't know how to get that many calories though... I can't eat more than 1/4 cup of food at a time

Getting more calories is easy. Just replace that quarter cup of food with whole foods that have a higher content of fat and calories: avocado, nuts, seeds, nut butters etc

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
