I find when I am in a fasting state, I have more energy and slept very little. I use to do juice fast and would be up for no reason. Once you get food and not Clear Liquids in your belly, you should be about to sleep well again

Are you taking pain meds? If so, some pain meds have adverse reactions in some people. Some will make you sleepy while others amp you up. I used to be able to take morphine based pain meds with no other reaction than resolving my pain. Now I take a morphine based pain medication and I cannot sleep and I while I don't feel "jittery" I do feel somewhat energetic. You may need to talk to your Dr about giving you something else if you still have pain. I have suffered from insomnia since I was a young girl, now days I take a couple of Kirkland (Costco) pills before bed and sleep just fine and don't wake up hung over. Kirkland Allergy pills are simply Benadryl and I get 600 for 5.00 while regular Benadryl are several dollars for a few pills. They help me sleep and I don't need to take them every night just sometimes. I take them 30 minutes before bedtime and sleep great.

I take Melatonin every night to help regulate my sleep. It has worked very well for me.

Please call your surgeon or his team for medical advise. If you are taking prescription medications, such as pain meds, there is a risk of interactions with over the counter medications. Benadryl, for example, can increase side effects of pain medications and there is a risk of overdose. sleep is important, and you do need to find out what to do, but getting medical advise from people on the internet is not wise.

Melatonin is all natural and contains only what ur body already produces and would be harmless

All natural doesn't mean safe. Arsenic is all natural, and produced in small amounts in the body. I certainly wouldn't recommend ingesting it.

Melatonin can interact with blood thinning medications, high blood pressure medications, immunotherapy medications, seizure medications, medications for mental disorders, and can cause complications in people who have clotting issues. Serious issues are rare, but they can certainly happen.

As a nurse I have been ordered by doctors to give this to patients who are on blood preassure meds and anti phychotic meds as well. Check with ur DOCTOR.

I literally cringe when I see people telling others that it's OK to take certain medications or herbal supplements.< br />
ASK YOUR DOCTOR!!

Only he or she knows about possible drug interactions, allergies, physical side affects that pertain to you as an individual...

Strangers on the internet should never ever replace his or her medical expertise.

@@nikita30, you might want to ask your surgeon if you can take some sleeping aid to be on the safe side. Are you still in pain? If so, sometimes pain will keep you awake.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
