How long before the "honeymoon" is over?

Recommended Posts

Thanks HHFM. Still, I hope that the last bit will fall off one day. Many people in our March 2016 VSG have reported that they also slowed down weight loss wise. So, close to 9 months post op, it is a bit of a shock to encounter the first major and long stall.

However, I hear that weight loss still happens in dribs and drabs.

Being a guy, you lose more and quicker. And you look fantastic already! Well done! ????????????

From what I have read, the weight loss still continues till 2 years post op, or so, but at a slower pace.

I have increased my Proteins, Water and exercise.

This should help.

there are SO many factors that go into answering that question that it's almost impossible. :-) I stuck to the plan religiously and hit my goal weight by 10 months post op. At that point the weight loss definitely slowed down and I also came to the realization that I actually *could* eat the things I used to eat at that point without being sick. That scared the crap out of me and at that point I started going to therapy with an eating disorder therapist because I realized that I was still the same struggling person, just at a lower weight. Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
