What a journey....can anyone relate?

Guess this is a post to vent....

Quick story to date...

Sleeved on 10/7/16...smooth surgery, went home next day. Battled hardcore nausea, vomiting, low grade fever. Readmitted on 10/20, leak in sleeve. Spent 9 days in on TPN to let it heal, sent home. Symptoms came back. Readmitted on 11/7 leaking again. 11/8 had procedure to put in a stent to let it heal. 11/9, test positive for CDiff thanks to all the antibiotics. Spent 15 more days in...just released 4 days ago. Sent home with home health, have 24 hr TPN as well as three infusions daily....

But at least I am home.

Its hard eating with TPN....you arent really hungry. But trying to stay with stages and get liquids, as TPN does not help with that...

Stronger daily physically, and mentally.

Not sure I'd do this again......

Oh man I'm so sorry. You must feel pretty down. I'm glad you're home! I was three weeks today and am feeling progressively more shitty: weak, nauseous, pain when I try and eat/drink. I'm going to call md on Monday just to be safe. I'm really sorry that happened to you. Nothing worse than doing something proactive for your health and then taking steps back. Hang in there.

So sorry that this has happened, I also had a horrible time a week after surgery with serve internal bleeding, thankfully no leaks like you had these are dangerous, I feel that I have now turned the corner and am on pureed foods. My state of mind has greatly improved thanks to the support from people in this group. Things will get better just take your time with each and every stage. God Bless and good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
