Surgery Date and Insurance Approval

Recommended Posts

Had my final visit with my surgeon on Tuesday and set surgery date for December 12th. Got a call from the office today that we have received insurance approval.....YAY!! Will be starting my two week pre-op liquid phase right after Thanksgiving, then move to pureed Proteins after surgery.

Congrats!! I would have loved one week of liquid, but will definitely look for ways to switch up and push through the two weeks. Let's keep each other on track as we embark on this journey.

After reading some of the insurance nightmare stories, getting that call yesterday lifted a heavy weight.

How long did it take from the time you started til you got a date?

I had my first consultation with the doctor the middle of August, so that started my insurance company's four month supervised weight management program. During that time, I did all the required testing (endoscopy, psych, sleep apnea, etc.).

I was afraid I wasn't going to get approved bc of my BMI but I JUST made it at 40.1

I was approved by Cigna within 5 days of submitting . I received my Dec 5 surgery date a couple of days later from my surgeon's office, Dr Clayton Frenzel. I will be traveling to Plano, TX. I live in Alabama but this office has made this process really smooth. I did my psychology Eval and all my dietician visits online, which was approved by insurance. I'm still in shock because Cigna usually turns down everyone at first.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
