I done screwed up ya'll

Recommended Posts

I was at 44 BMI before surgery, and I lost 32 pounds two months before surgery doing what most people are telling you.

1) get a myfitnesspal.com account today. Log every single bite you take. Do not go over 800 calories in a day.

2) do not eat bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, or sweets of any kind. Do not drink alcohol.

3) make sure you are getting 80+ grams of Protein every day. Have a Protein shake for Breakfast. Seafood is your friend. Shrimp, crab, scallops, fish, crawfish, etc. are all fantastic choices.

4) drink at least two liters of Water a day. Rinse out a Coke jug and fill it. Use that to measure your progress. Drink the entire thing every day. Drink more if you can. Add ice.

If you can't do this now, you might need to reevaluate whether now is the right time for you to be having surgery, or if you should have therapy first. Surgery isn't going to magically change you.

My diet 2 weeks before surgery..... 2 meals with 3oz chicken, fish,or any lean meat, 2 cups of leafy greens salad with lite or fat free dressing, 1/2 cup veggies ( no corn, potatoes, or peas ). On the salad try not to use iceberg lettuce of you can help it.....spinach is better. Then use 3 primer shakes....1 for Breakfast, and the other 2 for Snacks between meals....Drink plenty of Water....non caffeine and no sugar.....crystal light, is an awesome drink..I lost 15 lbs

Premier Protein shakes,

3 a day, or 2 a day with a healthy dinner. 2X 15 min walks a day. Drink lots of Water. Use real fruit, freezing the fruit in ice cube trays if you want some flavor to your Water.

Here's an example:

8am: shake

11am: snack (turkey sandwich meat slice with Tomato slices.

Unflavored Protein powder sprinkled on everything you eat. Mix it in your water too to help with the hunger. It helps so much!

2pm: shake

6pm: dinner

Example of dinner:

1/2 baked chicken breast, cup broccoli.

If you find yourself still hungry before bedtime, a peach or pear or 9 Almonds are are great.

Keep walking, walking. Good luck and best wishes. You got this :)

I lost 13 pounds during my 2 week pre op, 3 Protein shakes a day and lots if green leafy vegetables. If I am really hungry, I have a hard boiled egg. The hardest part was giving up bread, but it is worth it. My surgery is December 6th.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
