Anyone else having trouble sleeping since surgery? There's no pain, nothing keeping me up other than I am wide awake as of 4 am every day! Not sure if maybe I need to start taking some melatonin or what?

Could be hormones. If you're still on pain meds, it could be those.

I have heard from my acupunturist that your internal organs are balanced and when anything is wrong with them it brings disharmony and etc. from looking at most of the posts here with side effects such as facial flushing, insomnia, I really think that oriental medicine could help. I'm just bringing the word out there cuz not a lot of ppl seem to know. Look up stomach and tcm (which is traditional chinese medicine) and there are so many explanations of this.

I'm pretty sure that insomnia and other side effects are caused by unbalance in our internal system because we removed such a large organ in our body

Did they recommend taking two needles and calling them in the morning? :)

@@4MRB4PHOTO Why don't you try looking it up first. Its a real thing. I'm saying this from experience. I had really bad insomnia for two years (tried everything didn't work). Finally I visited an oriental doctor and got acupuncture and drank herbal teas. after a month my insomnia completely went away!! I sleep 8 hours a night everyday now.

I didn't sleep well for a long time. With the weight loss, some hormones got disturbed, and also my thyroid med got too strong (it is very weight sensitive). This made me hyper-thyroid for months.

I had to take sleeping pills for few weeks.

Now, I am finally sleeping much better, and my thyroid med has been reduced again.

How far out are you? Pain meds caused sleeping issues for me early on. This was not new either I had issues with sleeping from pain meds after other surgeries in the past. I also second all the posters that mentioned hormones. My PCP is fine with me taking melatonin. It really helps me. Wishing you many zzzzs!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
