And I'm feeling goooood!

Recommended Posts

10 days post op and I'm finally starting to feel human. People said I would but I couldn't believe them after the first week.

I'm able to drink more and take more than small sips to get Water in. Today I walked the most I've walked since surgery 4000 steps. I don't feel drained or tired. Eating a bit more bit by bit. The gas is pretty much none existent as I've made myself walk EVERYDAY!!

For those of you that have just been sleeved please know it gets better. It may not seem like it at the moment but it will.

All the best to you all!!

Good for you!! My experience was similar - I felt awful through day 10 post-op (low energy, could barely get out of bed) and at day 11 I magically turned the corner and have felt better every day since. I'm only at day 15 and I *almost* feel like my old self (minus 20 pounds)!

Glad you're doing so well! Best of luck.

We were all sleeevd aroud the same time (I was Oct 3), so it's great to see your updates. I am happy to hear that you both are finally feeling better!

I have been doing ok, mostly good. I just get a bit of nausea and a headache sometime, but all in all, good! I've lost 7 lbs since surgery day, but I had lost 17 lbs during my two week pre-op diet so all considered 24 lbs gone!

I am curious to know what you are eating/drinking at this stage. I am still on full liquids. Can't wait till I can have real food again, lol! (my saving grace is a little bit of Tomato basil bisque Soup in the evenings.)

Best to you both!

Hi Kel,

It's been a struggle to get the foods and drink down for me. The last couple of days have been good though. I'm still on liquids as well. I start puréed foods next Thursday which I'm excited about. Been pintresting like mad for the puréed stage getting ideas.

I lost 17lbs pre-op and 12lbs so far after surgery.

It's good to feel good again. Never thought I'd get here after the first week.

I'm having high Protein runny yoghurts, Protein Shakes. I've tried Soups but for some reason my stomach doesn't like hot foods at the moment only room temperature.

@@The New Kel - I too had headaches this week so I think that's normal. I get nausea when I try new foods but haven't thrown up yet - thankfully! I have had no trouble meeting Fluid and Protein goals, so I've added some yogurt, SF pudding, homemade applesauce and had some verrrrry soft, mushy egg salad last night. It's not glamorous but it's nice to use a spoon again!

Congrats on your weight loss - thanks fantastic! I lost 10 lbs during pre-op and 11 since surgery, so I'm at 21 lbs total but have been stalled for the last two days. All in all I'm still pretty happy!

Best of luck and keep up the good work!

@@Nerdgrl, I hear you about the non-glam food! I felt weak yesterday and couldnt somach another icky protien shake so took teaspoon of avacado and smashed it up with non-fat mayo and a squeexe of lime. Looked awful but that tiny bite did the trick. LOL!

And I also Pinterest like crazy!!

No, not really. I don't go often though at all. I have heard that it can take up to 10 days sometimes before you go. I thnk its normal since all we are allowed at this stage is liquid. Have you asked your surgeons office?

How are you doing otherwise?

Great. Down 12 pounds in the first week and then stopped completely but I think if I could go, it might help. LOL

Planning on returning to work Monday.

No, are you drinking enough fluids? I've started using natural fibre in my shakes as well some kind of husk can't remember the name of it.

What I have noticed is my bowel movements are quite running. Apparently that is to be expected when you are on theiquid diet

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
