Twinkie Twit

Recommended Posts

Just taking a moment to vent! I have a neighbor who really is just a wretched human being. Hubby and I have called the cops on this woman a few times for physically threatening me, but they say they can't do anything unless it's physical. I call bull on that but anyhoo. This lovely woman has now taken to oh so noncreative insults. I'm 9 months post RNY. I've lost 120 lbs. I still have a ways to go but man I'm stoked. Well this chick apparently can't tell the difference between Water and a slurpee. Sure as shoot, every time I come home from work she comments about how happy she is I got myself another slurpee. Folks, it's a clear Tervis tumbler with WATER! She also enjoys telling me that she knows what it's like to wake up with twinkies on her pillow (hence the Twinkie twit). Here are my main things, because I'm truly more amused by her comments that upset.

1: It's the "easy" way out. Don't like someone? Comment on their appearance. That'll show them! If it weren't for her letting me know I'm fat (still am no shame here) then how would I ever know?! I swear I went to sleep last night a "normal" BMI! Thank goodness she told me so I can get to the bottom of this!

2: I would much rather still have the 120 lbs I lost than be so negative. If fat is the worst thing someone can come up with than I think I'm doing alright. There are so many worse qualities people can have than excess weight.

3: I don't even know this woman's name. Despite living next door she's a stranger. Why in the world would her opinion mean anything? Yes, I'm taking time to talk about it, but more because I'm tired of "you're fat" being the go to insult. It's old, it's tired, and you're not telling me anything I don't already know.

Sorry this was long (but not sorry because I feel better )!

@@KristenLe lol I could but a reaction is what she wants. I come inside, hubby and I laugh it off, and I go about my day. It's definitely not mature, and it's not an example I would want to set for my children, but she's hopefully leaving soon.

She doesn't know the progress I've made. And it really just hits home with me how yes obesity is a huge problem, but making or trying to make people feel bad about themselves won't do any good.

She's a miserable person. I'm sorry you even have to deal with someone like that.

Winston Churchill's exchange with Lady Astor

Winston, your drunk

And you Lady Astor, are ugly...however in the morning I'll be sober.

And at the end of the day, you will be healthy and she will still be ugly. Just saying.

I had the same crap with my ex, I just got to the point where I refused to partisipate in her drama. That is very liberating.

George Bush Sr. was asked by 60 minutes to do a special interview on the eve of his son's invasion of Iraq, and he said "no." And they said "but you don't understand, this is history." He said "well I don't give a rip, I'm going fishing."

When you get to that point, you are really liberated and free.

i wouldnt give her the time of day..none of her business...when people are angry like that it is because they hate their own life and need to take it out on someone...still, i would have a hard time not feeding the frenzy and tell her, that her parents must be proud....

So sorry you come home and leave home to that. Put on your best 120 lb less strut, put your smaller chin high and walk proudly past her sad stuck self. You go girl!

I swear I am always surprised to hear/read/experience such nasty, mean people in the world. I really just don't get it...what does belittling someone do for them? Sadly, bullies will always exist. You do you and as hard as it is, don't let her control your emotions and feelings about yourself! 120lbs...WAY TO GO!!!

Damn..........this thread just reminded me how cool my current neighbors are and that I need to do something to show I appreciate them.

Both sides are dog owners......and they never complain about my deck music and grill smoke.

One of them, rocks her music even louder than I do......and routinely throws a steak on her grill that smells better than what may be on mine. It's like we are backyard version of playing rock, paper, scissors.

Good neighbors are great.....bad ones, which I've had before, are aggravating as hell.

Ive had issues with a neighbor down the street too. Her go to insult is calling me a fat bich. The hilarious thing? She is just as fat and unarguably less attractive. She lives with her mom and dad and works part time at Circle K. Ive also heard that she has new boyfriend... who has been in jail for over a year.

What part of her life gives her the right to throw stones?

Turn the tables.......walk up to her next time with your cell and video her rant.......then let her know you're sticking it on U-tube. She'll avoid you like the plague from then on. ;)

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
